So basically I'm always on the go, thus I'm writing this post "20 pre-workout snacks to fuel moms on the go" mostly for me and modern mamas like me that are literally always moving. That's okay, I can't say I ALWAYS fuel up before exercise, but that call always depends on the duration, intensity and type of workout. For example, when I trained for marathons and triathlons, eating sustaining foods before a two hour plus ... View Post

We’re back from Cali! + Weekly Eats & Workouts

By Kristina LaRue, RD, CSSD 16 Comments

Hey friends!! Eric and I made it back to Orlando! We had at blast at Disneyland, details on the trip in tomorrow’s post. I’m totally loving the little Pearl snuggles. It’s so sweet to be back to her after being gone. We missed her so much and I’d say she missed us too... Sweetest kitty cat evaaaaa! While I’m ready to get back to cooking our own food, as much as I prepared ahead to have snacks for us there is nothing like a home cooked meal that makes you feel good from the inside out. Since we got in yesterday evening, I had enough time to run by the grocery store and do a small amount of prep for the week. But this is not-yo-typical meal prep! All the foods that I brought home are super fast foods, we’re talking dinner ready in a flash. I figured that you all ... View Post

Refreshing Apple & Kale Power Salad topped with tart cherries, almonds, blue cheese, and perfectly dressed with apple maple vinaigrette!   It's officially the holiday season and I've been smiling from ear to ear and ready to bust out the Christmas lights! I'm just kidding, but we have been blazing christmas tunes all weekend. The temps dropped on Friday night and we had a chilly weekend with highs in the low 60s! Thanks to Cabot, I had something healthy to give the kiddos and they loved it (especially the parents)! No I wasn't a smurf for Halloween but I did have on all blue so this wig that my bro acquired at work was ... View Post

Sports Massage for Injury Prevention and Healing

By Kristina LaRue, RD, CSSD Leave a Comment

Being active is a big part of my life.. it always has been. I grew up playing competitive tennis and while I didn't particularly like tournaments, I loved the workouts and how I felt after doing drills: strong and empowered. When I went to college I wanted to step away from tennis because it was emotionally draining for me so I started running and found triathlon. From my first race, I fell in love with endurance sports; remarkably the encouraging people that I encountered on the course. In three years, I completed nearly 20 triathlons and loved every single minute of it. After the wedding, without a free pool and my core friends to bike and travel to races with, compounded by the lack of funds... no more parents paying for monthly races and travel, funny how that works. I moved to ... View Post
