It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the LaRues

By Kristina LaRue, RDN 14 Comments

Happy Friday! The house is slowly getting ready for Christmas despite the fact that the tree is still unfinished 🙂 I love the look of it in the living room.

Christmas Decorations 2014

On tap for the weekend– Eric and I are going to a Christmas cocktail party tonight for the Young Lawyer’s Section of the Orange County Bar Association. I’m excited to get a little dressed up tonight! All the proceeds from the event are going to teens in need this Christmas.

Christmas Decorations 2014-6

Eric hung the garland on the door last weekend. We found this fresh garland and wreath at Trader Joe’s. I still want to hang a red bow on the wreath to give it an extra pop of Christmas.

Christmas Decorations 2014-3

Tomorrow Eric is running the OUC half marathon with his firm, and I’m going to be a cheerleader!! The race is downtown so I’ll be there cheering everyone on a few people from his office are doing the 5K and 3 of them are doing the full. I don’t usually sit the sidelines but I’m looking forward to it for this race.

Christmas Decorations 2014-7

I just love when the Christmas quilt goes on the bead! We got this at Pottery Barn the first Christmas we were married and I always look forward to this time of year and changing up the usual decor.

Christmas Decorations 2014-4

Also, I love how Christmas decor brings so much meaning… my aunt Elaine insisted on buying me these Merry Christmas letters when we moved into the house and I love hanging them. We found a new spot for them this year and I’m really loving this look with the garland.

Christmas Decorations 2014-5

Eric’s dad loves to give Jim Shore figurines for Christmas gifts and this little santa is by far my favorite! I love how he brightens up my kitchen window. We found that cute tree at Trader Joe’s.

On Sunday I have a TV segment, and I think we are just going to be hanging out for the rest of the weekend. Decorating the Christmas tree is a priority!

How about you? Is your tree decorated yet? Anything planned this weekend?

Beautiful house and beautiful holiday decorations! Have fun decorating the tree. I”m a little sad that this will be my first year without a tree. My 18 month old would pull it down in a split second, she’s a bit of a maniac these days!

Thank you Sonali! We got the tree all decorated last night! OMG– my sis in law was telling me last night about how she might have to use a baby gate for her tree.

Looking good! I don’t have a ton of decorations but enough and yes they are all up. 🙂 The time is just going too fast! I think we are going to dig into our advent calendar and do some Christmas activities this weekend. Hoping to at least!

Can we put in a request for Christmas time to slow down.. or let’s just make the month longer. What type of Christmas activities do you guys do?? That sounds so fun!

Your house looks so festive! Our outside decorations are up, but not inside yet. Hopefully the tree will go up this weekend.
