This Almond Butter Acai Bowl tho. The taste of almond butter with acai and banana in a bowl topped with all the toppings. Plus who can resist extra almond butter drizzled on top?! Almond butter in every bite!

Have you tried acai? I made an acai bowl for the blog last year and then worked on a photography project with a local start up Create Your Nature, and made and photographed and ate bowl after bowl of acai. And am quite into acai… especially with al la almond butter.

Or AB as I like to call it for short. Because it’s just more mildly creamy than peanut butter. I like to get the all natural almond butter from trader joe’s because it’s pourable since the only ingredients are almonds (and salt if you get the salted version). No added oils or sugars or stabilizers or flavorings like in other ABs on the market.

Thanks what I call AB at it’s purest most natural state. Just the way I like it. All drizzly and stuff. So if you’re wondering why I can get that yummtatastic drizzle on top of this acai bowl it’s because it’s natural almond butter.

Go get you some o dat stuff at TJs.

Oh and if you click the link to Create Your Nature you can see all the pretty little things I got to create and snap with my camera straight on their website and menu. Woot. Woot.

This Almond Butter Acai Bowl tho. The taste of almond butter with acai and banana in a bowl topped with all the toppings. Plus who can resist extra almond butter drizzled on top?! Almond butter in every bite!

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 packet unsweetened acai
  • 1/4 cup kefir (use 2 tablespoons if banana isn’t frozen)
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • toppings: frozen wild blueberries, cherries, unsweetened coconut flakes, banana slices, sliced almonds, almond butter and honey drizzle

Instructions

  1. Place acai, kefir, banana and almond butter in a high powered blender. And process until smooth. This may take a few minutes to get it to the right consistency. You want it to be thick.
  2. Pour acai mixture into a bowl, and top with frozen wild blueberries, cherries, unsweetened coconut flakes, banana slices, sliced almonds, almond butter and honey drizzle.
  3. Serve immediately with a spoon.

This acai bowl recipe definitely changed my life! I wasn’t a huge fan of almond butter to begin with but this recipe made me crave it all the time. Thank you so much for the recipe!

ah, thank you! The toppings are what make a smoothie bowl delish. You’re going to have to fight me for the AB. 😛
