Why Frozen Vegetables are a Nutrition Lifesaver?

By Kristina LaRue, RDN Leave a Comment

It’s easy to toss frozen vegetables into a pasta, stir fry, or soup. Broc is E’s favorite, so this meal put a smile on his face.

Frozen produce is picked at the peak of ripeness and then quickly frozen to retain more nutrition. Many researchers have found them to have even more nutrients than their fresh friend. Usually fresh foods are picked before they are ripe so they taste fresh and yummy when they get in your hands, but the downside is they don’t have as much time to develop desirable nutrients on the vine.

Time saver! No chopping, pealing, or prep work required. Simply steam and eat. Dinner in a flash.

Frozen vegetables make cheap eats.

It’s easier than ever to get your 5-a-day with frozen vegetables!

What is your favorite way to use frozen vegetables?
