It’s {almost} Valentine’s day and with that in mind, I made this pink smoothie! I don’t know about you but I’m really excited that this day falls on a weekend. How fun! I’m totally begging Eric to take me to the beach this weekend. I’m just kinda wanting to go to one of our favorite spots Amelia Island for a little get-a-way, but I don’t know what he might have up his sleeve.

Also, I wanted to share a fun post that I did for Tara’s new blog, Diet Diva Dishes. “Ways to show love without chocolate!” Is that even possible? We’ll here’s my take…

Baked chocolate chip cookies or a box of chocolates are often viewed as the typical presents to show someone your love. This year, why not think out of the box? There are many alternatives to chocolates that may be a sweeter deal all around.

And while you’re choosing your not-chocolate-gift, why not cater it to the way your loved one feels most loved? There are five primary “languages” of expressing love, including positive affirmation, quality time, physical touch, acts of service and material gifts. Below, we’ve explored an option for each one of these, so you can go above and beyond to show you care.

For unique ways to show love based on your lover’s love language– check out this post!

Back to the recipe! This Pink Cashew Cream Smoothie was invented when I was craving a smoothie but I wanted a protein boost without the traditional peanut butter or protein powder. I just wanted something whole and raw, and boy am I sooo happy that I added these little cashews to my smoothie!! It makes it so creamy and fluffy. I’m hooked.

Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend?

This is adorable! I always put frozen tart cherries in my smoothies after a workout. I heard they help with muscle soreness but I honestly can’t remember if there’s actual evidence backing that— not that I care because they make everything taste delicious. Never thought to throw cashews in there!

Such a pretty color! I made pink brownies for Valentine’s Day; less healthy, perhaps, but still fun 🙂

Now this looks delicious. Cashews are the base I utilize for my non-dairy cheese sauces and dips! I never thought of putting them in a smoothie though. Brilliant! 🙂
I have put hemp seeds in my smoothie for variety – also very creamy and delicious (not hemp powder though -icky)!
I also use a blend of cashews, hemp seeds, and coconut milk to make dairy-free ice cream too. So many delicious options. Can’t wait to try this one.
Also, Ameila Island is so beautiful! Enjoy your day together, wherever it leads you two.
