It’s almost been 6 months since we moved into our new house. I really cannot believe it. We lived in a very small (500 sq feet) garage apartment our first 2.5 years of marriage.
I diligently looked on Craigslist day after day, month after month, year after year. Honestly, I exhaustively searched to find our new house, but he we weren’t quite ready to move just yet. Eric was still in law school, studying for the Bar, and then waiting on the results to see if he passed the Bar.
We would tour a home, and it was like a broken record, over an over, “just wait we will find something better”, “we can do better”. OMG! I was so tired of hearing that!! I was very heartbroken after a few homes we toured that I fell in love with, and thought they were just perfect…
I’m so glad those other houses didn’t work out, and I feel as if I’m seeing a glimpse of the bigger picture now. It was well worth the wait. The moment we stepped into view this house we just knew it was the one we’d call our home! I really cannot believe we get to live here. I’m so at home and feel tremendously blessed, God showed up and gave us more than we deserve, and it even has a spacious laundry room!!
On the weekends, we spend lots of time outside gardening, and sitting in the backyard, Eric plays golf, we throw the frisbee or play paddleball. It’s such a blast, and I hope that we savor all the memories we’re making in this new place we call home.

It's good to read your own story about your life. Your home looks amazing. Nice decoration and furniture.
we are moving to Thornton Park in just a few weeks!! Our new place is a downsize from our now 2 bedroom in Miami, which was a downsize from our house in KC…i can't get much smaller!!
Oh small world!! We really enjoyed Thornton Park and the walkability. The “downtown area” is so much FUN! You'll have to join Central Florida Lady Bloggers meet ups!
It looks great ๐ Congrats!! Such a cute part of Orlando too!
Thx Michelle!!
We are neighbors! We should run together soon!

Congrats on the new home! It's beautiful!
Your home is beautiful ~ so BLESSED!!! Love you Both!!!
THX Mrs. Walsh!! ๐
Congratulations! It looks beautiful. I didn't realize you were living in Orlando now–I'm in Lake Nona on the southeast side of town. Looking forward to keeping up with your blog!
Hey Dusty!! Great to hear from you! I didn't know you were in Lake Nona, so cool!! Are you doing any running over there?
I am, though I have to admit that my routine has been less than stellar lately with my travel/work schedule. But I'm hoping to do the OUC half in December. I like this area of town because it's so close to my office, but it feels SO far from everything else around town.
Cool! I want to do OUC half too!! Haven't done it before but have watched it past few years. Runners would run by our old house.
That kitchen window! All I can think is 'food photography'.
I thought the same thing when we toured, all the windows are a big deal to ppl like us ๐ I'm still working on finding the “best light”.
Beautiful beautiful house! Wishing you many years of happiness there ๐
Thanks Deanna!
I loved the tour! Congrats on the new house! It's beautiful! And you deserve every bit of it ๐
Thanks for the sweet comments! Makes me smile ๐
It's so charming! I love it!
Thanks Andrea!! I'm really enjoying the College Park charm.
